Flow Init is a lost sci-fi feature that was meant to explore the meaning of humanity and the relationship between man and technology. The score itself has been rediscovered after years of being believed to be gone forever.

In a near future, Page Irwin lives an ordinary life, working as a research scientist for a multinational corporation operating in the fields of virtual reality and robotics.
During the testing stage of an innovative virtual reality system, soon to be commercialized, he discovers something that will radically change his perception of reality. At this point, every choice he could make would lead to an inconvenient outcome.
But the corporation’s CEO cannot afford to let him hold the power of this decision.

A contemplative album – conceived as a sci-fi soundtrack – able to make you shiver from the very first track. This album stimulates music visualisation and establishes an extremely introspective discourse, related to the individual, fluctuating between angst and melancholia in the more intimate connotation of the terms. Flow Init set itself as a guide into a parallel dimension, made of desolate space, dreamlike lands, and an incumbent presence: yours. Here the only person one can find is their own self, in a visceral, invasive and revelatory way. A journey of self-discovery through ‘self-escape’, which acts as a catharsis and leave the listener both shaken and naked. Looking forward to watching the film! Congrats Maelt Gootla, a very good first experiment.
To listen all at once, with closed eyes and lights off.

This album takes us out of the ordinary world. It creates places and scenarios we are only able to live in our subconscious mind. It is a very stylish and experimental work.

From the very first seconds, the score sets itelf as a powerful and suggestive experience.
Flow Init throws the listener into mysterious nocturnal atmospheres, dark, unsettling landscapes where nature and technology meld together, leaving behind a trail of crawling bugs.
It's disorienting, almost disturbing. The listener is constantly sensing a sinking feeling which he can't hide from. The only way out is the way through.
The album is very well composed and shows great attention to detail. Every song is perfect on its own, but the sum is even greater than its parts and the score is therefore better enjoyed as a unique and flowing experience.
The meticulous choice of instruments, ambient sounds and different tempos rewards attentive listening, making it dynamic, diverse and never boring.
Silence is cleverly exploited throughout the album and is made to resonate more than the heaviest noise could—something not many artists can do.
A very solid first work. Definitely willing to hear more from Maelt Gootla.

Listening to this album is like explore a world that is entirely mine.
I mean it feels like swimming in a lake I used to know, hundreds of years ago, a lake that I forgot about, only to reappear - where it was all along - the very moment I clicked 'play'.
It's an exchange of feelings between this mysterious place and myself, in a mutual way, where sometimes I feel perfectly at home and other times I feel a stranger of myself.
This album is an introspective swim into our conscience, a deep journey in our own feelings and personal experiences.

Flow Init is an album that reaches its goal.
Sounds are dark, the rhythm is slow and insistent and its reccurring themes recall to memory the overwhelming atmospheres of the best sci-fi works.
Synthetic sounds are polished and make me think about settings in the style of Blade Runner, lacking in warm colors and soaked in uneasiness.
The listening is very simple, and being this album conceived as a soundtrack makes it ideal as background music (perfect for studying, in my opinion), but I suggest at least a couple of attentive listenings, in order to appreciate the elegance of sounds and melodies.
On balance it is a solid work of which I recommend the listening to everyone.
